The Brightspace D2L MCP server is read-only by design, with HTTPS enforcement, Bearer and cookie auth from the user's own browser sign-in, no hardcoded credentials, and network traffic limited to the user's school Brightspace instance. Findings are limited to low-severity concerns: sensitive session material stored on disk, exposure of classmates' contact data through tools, and a truncated code excerpt that prevents review of the auth and session modules. Supply chain analysis found 5 known vulnerabilities in dependencies (1 critical, 1 high severity). Package verification found 1 issue.
