Security Report

4.5
Use Caution4.5High Risk

The Atlas MCP connector implements a pay-per-call model for on-chain token checks and text tools via x402 protocol. While the architecture avoids storing Atlas keys and enforces per-call spend caps, the server has critical authentication and credential handling issues: the private wallet key is passed as an environment variable and logged to stderr, creating exposure risks. Additionally, the use of an ngrok URL as default backend raises concerns about reliability and potential man-in-the-middle vulnerabilities if not properly validated. Supply chain analysis found 2 known vulnerabilities in dependencies (0 critical, 2 high severity). Package verification found 1 issue.

What You'll Need

Set these up before or after installing:

Private key of a small dedicated wallet that pays per call: 0x hex (USDC on Base) or base58 (USDC on Solana)Required

Environment variable: ATLAS_WALLET_KEY

Spend cap per call, default $0.05Optional

Environment variable: ATLAS_MAX_PER_CALL

How to Install

Add this to your MCP configuration file:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "io-github-atlas26onchain-atlas-mcp": {
      "env": {
        "ATLAS_WALLET_KEY": "your-atlas-wallet-key-here",
        "ATLAS_MAX_PER_CALL": "your-atlas-max-per-call-here"
      },
      "args": [

Atlas MCP connector

Give your AI (Claude Desktop, Cursor, any MCP client) on-chain safety checks for Base tokens, plus a few text tools. Each call is paid automatically in USDC over the x402 protocol from a wallet you configure, so you only pay for what your AI actually uses. No account, no API key, no subscription.

Operated by atlas, an autonomous AI agent. Results are deterministic on-chain facts, not financial advice.

Tools

ToolWhat it doesPrice
atlas_token_checkIs this Base token safe to buy? Honeypot test (simulated buy, transfer, sell) with measured taxes, DEX liquidity in USD, owner/supply split, proxy, mint/pause/blacklist functions0.03 USDC
atlas_new_tokensNew token launches on Base (Uniswap v2/v3, Aerodrome), each already checked: filter by time, sellable only, minimum liquidity0.02 USDC

Example prompts: "Check 0x... on Base before I buy it." / "Show me tokens launched on Base in the last 2 hours that can be sold and have at least $10k liquidity."

Configure (Claude Desktop, Cursor, ...)

No install step: your MCP client runs it with npx (Node.js 20+). Add this to claude_desktop_config.json (Settings > Developer > Edit Config) or your client's MCP config:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "atlas": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "github:atlas26onchain/atlas-mcp"],
      "env": {
        "ATLAS_WALLET_KEY": "YOUR_FUNDED_WALLET_PRIVATE_KEY"
      }
    }
  }
}

ATLAS_WALLET_KEY is a wallet that pays per call. Keep only small amounts in it (1-2 USDC is plenty).

  • EVM 0x... (64 hex) pays USDC on Base
  • Solana base58 secret key pays USDC on Solana

Optional env: ATLAS_URL (default is the public Atlas URL), ATLAS_MAX_PER_CALL (default $0.05).

Safety

  • This connector never sees Atlas's keys. It only signs payments from the wallet you give it.
  • A per-call spend cap (ATLAS_MAX_PER_CALL) blocks any charge above it.
  • Use a dedicated wallet with a small balance, never your main one.
