HonestCode is a local, deterministic AST-based verification MCP server for Python code with no LLM or network calls in its core path, and its permissions (filesystem reads, subprocess-based sandboxed execution, and local indexing) match its developer-tool purpose. The SSE transport is unauthenticated, but the code refuses non-loopback binding without an explicit opt-in, and the execute_code tool is a documented accident guard rather than a containment boundary, which users should understand. Only the visible portion of the code was reviewed; the truncated tools.py and sandbox modules were not fully examined. Supply chain analysis found 17 known vulnerabilities in dependencies (4 critical, 8 high severity). Package verification found 1 issue.
