AutoClip is a local video-clipping MCP server with a broad but purpose-consistent footprint: it runs ffmpeg, calls LLM providers, downloads YouTube/Bilibili media, and publishes via Upload-Post, all of which fit its stated function. The reviewed code reads the API key from environment variables rather than hardcoding it, and stdout is protected for the MCP protocol channel. Minor concerns remain around the truncated portions of the code that were not visible for review, the publish path sending rendered content to a third-party service, and the lack of in-tool authentication beyond local stdio trust. Supply chain analysis found 16 known vulnerabilities in dependencies (1 critical, 5 high severity). Package verification found 1 issue.
