Needle MCP server

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients to your Needle leads: see who to reply to, read a lead in full, draft a reply in your brand voice, mark leads as handled, and run new searches across Reddit, Hacker News, forums and more.

In Claude: Needle is listed in Claude's connector directory.

• Auth: sign in with your Needle account (OAuth), or an API key from Needle Settings → API & MCP. Growth and Scale plans, and the free 7-day trial (full access, no card).
• Changes: CHANGELOG.md. Tools and fields are never renamed or removed.
• Docs: useneedle.net/docs/mcp (tools, limits, errors) and the REST API

Set up

claude.ai and Claude Desktop: open Needle in Claude's connector directory, or go to Settings → Connectors, find Needle and click Connect. Sign in to Needle and choose Allow. If the directory is not available in your workspace, choose Add custom connector and paste https://api.useneedle.net/mcp.

ChatGPT: Plugins → Add → Add custom MCP server. Enter https://api.useneedle.net/mcp, keep Authentication on OAuth, tick I understand and want to continue, then Create and Connect. Sign in to Needle and choose Allow.

Claude Code

Then run /mcp, pick needle and authenticate in the browser.

In Windsurf's mcp_config.json, name the URL serverUrl instead of url.

To debug a connection, run the MCP Inspector (npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector), choose Streamable HTTP and enter the URL.

Apps you sign in with are listed in Needle under Settings → API & MCP → Connected apps, where you can disconnect them.

Skills

Ready-made workflows in Agent Skills format (skills/<name>/SKILL.md). Each states roughly how many API calls it uses.

Needle never posts for you: drafts are text for you to review and post.

Errors

A failed tool call starts with a stable code (for example search_in_progress), then the details as JSON, including a doc_url into the error table and a request_id to quote to support.
